Whether it is from not closing your pool properly or not taking the time to do proper maintenance on your pool it may have turned green. There are some steps that you can take to clear up this green mess.
Step one: Scoop out the debris from the bottom of the pool. The water may turn worse but it’s only temporary.
Step two: Check your chemicals especially your pH and alkalinity. You may have to add to get the proper levels.
Step three: You may have to add more over a 2-3 day span. Shock your pool. Using liquid chlorine will begin the clearing up process. Add as much shock as you need, there is no such thing as too much.
Step four: You have to run the filter 24 hours a day. Do not turn off. Backwash as much as 3 times a day.
Step five: Finally, once the water has cleared you can vacuum. There may be still some debris on the bottom because the water was green when you scooped on the first day.
If the pool still does not clear up there may be another problem with your equipment. |
