So your D.E. swimming pool filter needs an acid wash becuase it is clogged or not preforming well. We will explain below how a filter should be properly acid washed.

1. Remove filter element (grids) from the filter tank
2. Spray all excess D.E. powder off the grids with a garden hose
3. Inspect grids or fingers for any damage, (this will include rips or holes in fabric)
4. You filter should now be free of all debri
5. Apply muriatic acid to the filter by simply pouring the acid on the filter. (this may cause some fumes, so always wear proper eye protection and golves)
6. Once Filter is soaked in acid, let stand for 2 minutes and then rinse thoughly with water.
7. You know should notice that your filter grids have now become more white in color
8. After filter is drained , re-install the element the reverse way that you took it out.

When you Start you filter system back up you should now notice that the pressure is now back to normal and operating smoothly
